# Laniakea: Second Stage ## Organizations/Factions ### Committee of Wise Men An international group led by a set of powerful government leaders, creators of Laniakea. ### Laniakea Laniakea is a semi-physical, internet-based international network secretly created several decades ago by the Committee of Wise Men. Laniakea's purpose is the total control of the human race. To gain acceptance, it was introduced as a way to break free from the chains of the physical world and create an ideal world for each person. In short, Laniakea is a supposedly functional infrastructure project that has been repurposed to control and monitor everyone within its reach. Humans can "virtualize" themselves and enter Laniakea. It's not a simple simulation; they are truly there. Dying in Laniakea is equivalent to dying in the real world. To protect Laniakea, an artificial intelligence system called Sagittarius was created. Sagittarius is capable of adapting to new threats and working independently of the committee of sages, although it is always subject to the committee's decisions. ### Sons of Liberty A group whose objective is to end the existence of Laniakea and thus free the world from the chains of the committee of sages. ### Project Milky Way A group of engineers who originally worked on Laniakea realized its potential as a tool for control. Therefore, they created a hidden backdoor, known as Milk, a pure-hearted human with extraordinary abilities who has the capacity to destroy Laniakea, but is unaware of this ability. The objective of Project Andromeda was simple: to create an ideal judge and executioner to protect humanity if Laniakea were used for evil. ## Characters ### Cradleman (Cradleman Man) An elite soldier affiliated with the Sons of Liberty, tasked with protecting Milk and helping her awaken her powers. He is a strong and cunning man who maintains the lie of his mission with Milk. They grow fond of each other throughout the story and eventually become a true father and daughter. ### Milk A pure-hearted human created by Project Milky Way. Despite being completely human, she has been genetically modified to have enhanced brain capacity and act as a "safeguard" against the misuse of Laniakea. Milk is unaware of her existence. After discovering her, the Sons of Liberty implanted false memories in her brain, leading her to believe she is Cradleman's biological daughter. She can use telekinesis and energy attacks. Her main ability is called "creativity," a kind of "god mode" that operates on Laniakea. #### Super Milk (temporary name) Milk has the ability to transform into Super Milk, a form in which her abilities are significantly enhanced. This form serves as her "executioner" mode, granting her enough power to destroy all of Laniakea if necessary. After accessing this form for the first time, Milk can use it at will. This transformation acts as a "key" that allows Milk to destroy the defenses of Laniakea's infrastructure. ### Andromeda A few years ago, Sagittarius uncovered documents detailing Project Milky Way and identified it as an existential threat to Laniakea. Andromeda is a girl similar to Milk but much more powerful (at least compared to Milk's base form), created and controlled by Sagittarius as a defense mechanism. At one point, Andromeda severely injures Cradleman, causing Milk to transform into Super Milk for the first time. Milk defeats Andromeda and ends Sagittarius's control over her, turning her into an ally by using her "creativity." ### Milkdromeda During the final arc of the Sons of Liberty story, accompanied by Milk and Andromeda, they decide to attack the core of Laniakea to destroy the network once and for all. The team was unaware that Sagittarius had not only created Andromeda to defend Laniakea, but had also increased the core's defenses by adding another defense system that lacks a "key." Somehow, Andromeda discovers that she can act as a "key" but is unable to penetrate the defenses created by Sagittarius. Milk suggests that they are not actually two different keys, but rather the combination of the two that allows them to destroy the system's defenses. Milk and Andromeda decide to use special rings to fuse and become Milkdromeda, a fusion of both. Initially, the rings don't work because they aren't properly synchronized, but they put them in each other's mouths, which solves the problem. ## Themes and Facts - Milk decides not to destroy Laniakea, but instead to free it from the clutches of the committee of wise men and return it to the people. This represents the liberation of the internet from the hands of large corporations and the dream of returning to the "Wild West" internet of the past. - A central theme of the story is not concentrating the control of technology in the hands of a few. - Milk and Laniakea secretly like each other. - Yes, Super Milk is a copy of the Super Saiyan. - After her transformation, Cradleman tells Milk the truth about her origins and their relationship. Despite this, Cradleman decides to adopt Milk and make her his real daughter, as they grow fond of each other throughout the game. - We will keep Milk's identity hidden from the player until her first transformation. - Despite destroying Laniakea as a weapon, the Council of Sages still exists. Milk simply provides humanity with the weapons to fight against their oppressors.
