# Laniakea: The first stage As Laniakea's development enters its first phase, it's time to decide what we will do about it. After I (eir) consulted with the director of the game at my day job, I have decided to follow his advice, here's the plan: ## No vertical slice A vertical slice is overly complicated, and would require art, ui, etc to do properly. ## Gameplay first We need to have gameplay working first, this means the basic locomotion and combat system. We will need to implement: - Locomotion - AI for the enemies - Weapon management - Cargo management like death stranding - Milk's attachment to the backpack and her basic abilities - A terrible test map ## Where to go afterwards After this basic gameplay prototype is done, we may start looking for investors/artists/etc.
